Art · Develop a concept of color. · Develop a visual awareness · Express personal artistic growth Demonstrate proper use of materials and tools.
Language Arts · Understand and apply knowledge of sounds and word recognition strategies to read grade level materials with accuracy and fluency. · Actively engage in the reading process and comprehension strategies to understand meaning. · Apply standard writing conventions when writing. · Understand and communicate effectively through listening and speaking. Engage in the reading process and respond to a variety of literature.
Library Sciences · Check for books through assisted computer usage. · Demonstrate listening skills and library etiquette. · Understand basic circulation procedures. · Recognize the parts of a book and types of books. Identify various authors and illustrators.
Math · Read, write and compare numbers with an understanding of place value to the 1, 000’s place. · Know addition and subtraction facts and process to 18. Possess a basic understanding of the multiplication process. · Tell time to the minute and quarter hour. · Count and write coin values to $5.00 · Use standard measure of linear, temperature and liquid measure. · Recognize geometric shapes. · Write and identify fractions. · Read, interpret and construct graphs, Venn diagrams, and calendars. · Read and solve story problems. Speak, read and write mathematically.
